Terry Jones, a lifetime member and Columbia recording artist with the Perth County Conspiracy, has played innumerable concerts over 50 years, with various members of his band, at small venues, major concert halls, and universities. In early 1970, in Philadelphia, Terry played lead guitar in a musical "The Line of Least Existence" with Danny DeVito, Judd Hirsch, and members of The Mothers of Invention.
Terry arrived in Stratford, Ontario in June of 1970, and played with the Perth County Conspiracy in various forms. As the personnel changed, Terry wound up touring as a duo with the multi-talented Cedric Smith, with whom he wrote music for plays "The Road to Charlottetown", "Ten Lost Years", and Stratford's Third Stage production of Lorca's "Yerma". They also wrote music for films "Following the Plough", "Awake for Milton", and "Three Minutes to Live". With and without Cedric Smith, Terry played prisons, cabarets, and countless folk clubs and small venues. He played at the Bohemian Embassy no matter where it has been.
Terry's "Whale Song", played often in concert by Stan Rogers, is featured in the 1978 Best Colour Documentary, the Greenspace movie, "Voyages to Save the Whales". Terry's songs have been recorded by other artists, notably "Mama Said", originally written for the play "Ten Lost Years".
Terry's unbridled propensity to create art is also cultivated visually. He can't but produce creative piece after creative piece. This gallery presents the many moods and feelings of an artist as diverse and thought-provoking as he is humourous and satirical.
Terry Jones is presenting his visual works to the public for the first time in 74 years. Please note this site is in constant flux. We truly hope you enjoy wandering the virtual gallery rooms. Terry's pieces are for sale.
Terry continues to write and record music. The Hard Lesson was released in 2013 to critical acclaim. This recording will be uploaded to your favourite audio streaming service soon..
